WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT SUPPORT GROUP (WESG 2023)

Following the excellent feedback from our 2022 Empowerment Group, Samia Nelson is repeating this valuable training and peer support experience for women of all ages.Â
All places are FREE, due to support from Acton Gardens Community Chest, but places are limited to 10 people so apply soon to avoid disappointment. Â Meetings take place in the pleasant surroundings of the Acton Gardens Community Centre. Â
The application process is QUICK and totally FREE (with the opportunity to make a donation if you wish). Please note, this is not a drop-in group, but a two month commitment to yourself and your peer group.

ABOUT SAMIA NELSON
Psychotherapist

I am a Clinical Transactional Analyst Psychotherapist with experience in various clinical and charity settings, providing individual and group therapy.
My work is grounded in a philosophy of inclusiveness and embraces all cultures and identities. I have a deep regard for ordinary human suffering and welcome all experiences you may bring to the therapy room. My particular interests lie in abuse, trauma, belonging, culture and identity.
I also have significant experience working with people affected by Autism & other neurodiverse conditions and run a therapy group for parents/carers of children with additional needs.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME:
This eight-week, therapeutically-informed group is designed for women of all life stages and backgrounds; we aim to increase your self-confidence, self-awareness, communication skills and positive mental health.Â
The course will be interactively tailored to suit participants’ needs, so please let us know if there are any issues you would like to explore when you register or when you join the programme. Generally, this programme focuses on developing the resilience and positive mental health required to face life's challenges be they related to health, work, family or relationships.Â
Themes include managing emotions; personal power; setting boundaries; Â nurturing ourselves; and accessing support.
This Empowerment Programme uses Transactional Analysis psycho-educational resources, tailored to the group's needs. Â
Peer Support:
This opportunity to build lasting friendships and a peer support network is an important component of empowering yourself and others.
At the end of course, each participant receives a completion certificate. Â

10 people only on a first-come, first-served basis. All other women will be added to our waiting list and contacted if a place becomes available. Â Thank you.
